How would you react???
Ok, so the other day, someone who graduated from the same high school as me contacts me. This person, I do remember and did speak with from time to time. However, here's the thing, this person is gay. Now, I normally don't care if someone gay talks to me, as long as he's not hitting on me. This person states that 3 other people, also from the same high school and are rumored to be gay, have spoken about me. Should I be worried? Should I write the guy back? This is reallly freaking me out!! A lil help here!!!

If you're gay, then it might be worrisome, if not, then who the fuck cares what 3 or 4 fags think about you.
Were you friends with him? We've had this happen to us before(ask bh and killjoy)...they usually don't stick around too long even if you do talk to 'em...they have their own 'lives' to live in a different subculture that you my friend are not included in being straight n all...
We now have seven gay gentlemen working at my place of employment, half of which are dating each other...it makes for a fun workday, I'll say that!
Drama, drama, drama!
What makes you assume that just because a person is gay that they might even think about hitting on you ? Self-centeredness, perhaps ?
Why might it be worrisome if he was gay ?
" fags ? "
" ...this has happened to us before..they usually don't stick around too long even if you do talk to 'em....
Its almost laughable that a bunch of alcoholics and addicts, who themselves have been the outcasts of society at one time or another, can show little acceptance of others while sober. Well, at least when not drinking or using.
I guess its true:
" The oppressed become the oppressors. "
My dear sir, calm down. Find your happy place...many of us on this blog have many beloved friends that are of different sexual orientations and no one has a problem with acceptance. It's called having a sense of humor and allowing your oh so politically correct, over sensitive, offended at everything disposition to step back and laugh at the absurdity of the world we live in. Who's oppressing who,man?..lighten up, live a little, relax, watch a sunset...oh, I cannot go on.
What a difference a day makes !
Yesterday it was "they" and "'em." Today, "they" have become your " beloved friends."
But, how is that possible, based on what you said ? I quote, "they have their own 'lives' to live in a different subculture that you, my friend, are not included in, being straight n all..."
What you are saying is that gay people who, as we all now know from you, live in a different subculture (as compared to straights, aka "Breeders"), automatically exlude straight people as potential friends.
No big loss. As you know,"They" usually don't stick around too long, even if you do talk to 'em !
How rude of them.
By the way, just who annointed you as the authority on friendships ? Emily Post ? Lucrezia Borgia ?
P.S. Thanks for reminding me yesterday, and today, why I laugh at the absurdity of the world we live in.
Oh, yeah. Just in case you were wondering. I'm not gay.
My boyfriend is.
How many people out there belive that there are subcultures in our happy little world? I can think of about 5 in one second. For those that think about it the "gay" life style is a subculture, sorry but that's a fact. So, is the Mexcian coumnity, hip hop, feminazis, oh you could go on and on. The fact of the matter is "they" gay people live and dwell in their own coumnity where they feel comfortable, as do all cultures. Now, to the point. Glenn my wife has never been an alcoholic or an addict of anything. If you can't read anything without getting your panties in a bunch, then get over it. There are more important things going on in this country than gay people. How about imergration reform?
Killjoy, you really should check your spelling before you post *wink*. Thanks for speaking out though, blah, blah, blah....For those of you who know me,I am no skilled debater, so Glenn...CHECK THE PIZZA before you write another page...
Breeder? Sheesh. *sigh*
No one cares.
WOW!!! Hadn't visited this one last night. These old blogs tend to get forgotten once you line up all the new ones.
So what do I say here? Everyone is in the wrong? He's right, you're wrong, she's right or wrong, you're right or wrong?
I got one comment for a few bloggers here.
CHILL OUT!
CHECK THE PIZZA!
IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU!
Obviously, these topics stir up feelings. I don't condone people walking on eggshells for anyone. And I don't respond to "ignorant" comments. I realize these comments are different than mine, they are of a different nature, and diffent or the same background. People believe what they believe based on personal experience. If you read EVERY word, you can see Ms. Kitty says both Brian and I have had experiences similiar. That's not to say or not say we didn't wonder the same thing or act or not act the same way. These experiences don't need to be justified or explained. It's not my business what you think of me, thank God I have been taught that lesson.
Man, screw it, bottom line, I'm not sticking up for anyone. Glenn, don't take this as a personal attack, and Brian, - reform? Reform is a term that says something is not working and we should go back to the old ways. I believe any change is good change. If not for the tragdey of 9/11, would we not be more alert and vigulant to what the rest of the world thinks about us? Is America not the land of opportunity? A wise man said the other day, we are fortunate to be born here in America, where we can say or do what we want. If this blog was in China, one of us might be prosecuted. That statemtn goes to all of those debating. All this from one question from Matt, and Matt's question was answered.
If we are uncomfortable with a situation, we run it through our network of friends. To walk around, being afarid to ask if a gay person makes you uncomfortable, is just as riduculus as walking around and being afraid to talk about race or religion. We're given these freedoms. We're not homophobic, or fags or ingnorant or any of that. We're people, living life, asking questions.
BTW, I'm straight, spiritual - not in any way religious, and a hard core liberal!!!!!!!
Ok, I'm watching the news on immigration reform, my opinion mas ignorant. I did not know what immigration reform meant. I need more information, before I make an opinion. So before everyone jumps all over my shit for not knowing reform - wait till I post, then jump all over my shit!
Bh, you said what I could not. I I feel the same way (except for being a hard core liberal).
Brad?
I know what you mean bh, but the immirgation system needs to be changed. I'm not against immirgation only illegal. The fact of the matter is giving 20million illegals a pass and a chance to become American citzens with only a 1,000$ fine is outragouse. They just need to enforce the laws we have. 29% of our prison system is filled with illegals, and they say they only come here to work. Bull, the percentage of illegals on welfare is higher than any other. They are a drain on our health care, welfare, and drive down the wages. Any of you see the protests going on this week about immirgation? Well, I have and I'm none to happy about it. What defines a country? I'll tell you borders, language, and culture that's what period the end.
Glenn, do yourself a favor, refrain from commenting - fighting - anymore and let go and let God be the final judge. Remember they tuaght us in the program, We are not God!
I have ceased fighting. I will not, however, cease commenting.
The ways in which people use language to express themselves, say far more about them than the meaning of the words they use. This applies to myself as well to others.
We are all responsible for what and how we express our thoughts and beliefs. Yet, although I can control what I say, I have no control over how my words are perceived or interpreted.
As such, my expressed
ideas might carry a specific intention on my part, but come across to others as implying another, and often opposite, intention.
None of what I have just said should be interpreted as a " mea culpa. " Nor do I expect one from others.
Finally, I do suggest to those who have not read " The Crucible " to do so. You will understand why after having read it.
Good-bye.
Good night and good luck.
jesus h. christ!
Since I'm the asshole homophob who started the firestorm of comments, let me clarify and try to be a little more pc:
If you're sexual orientation is such that find you are attracted to people of the same gender, then it might be worrisome that some old friends of the same gender might be offering some unwanted advances, causing undue stress on the friendship. If you are not of that sexual orientation, then why would you care what three or four fags(homophobic term for men whose sexual orientation is such that they are attracted to other men)(used intentionally b/c that would be the typical homophob word that would be used by most men who afraid that gays are after them.) want with you.
Whew, man that was alot of work.
Why don't some of you just poke fun of fat people(me), so I can go off on how you people don't understand food and differences in eating habits and exercise.
Is there a fat people sub culture?
Give me the telephone number.
Everyone Smile.
Rule 62. Don't take yourself so damn seriously.
